| Sept. 14th: CALLING ALL APEX VOLUNTEERS - LA18 HARVEST MOON FESTIVAL |
 LA18 is hosting the popular Harvest Moon Festival in Arcadia Park on Sept. 14, 2008. We are looking for volunteers to help with various festival acitivities.
Shifts: (1) 9:30am-1:30pm or (2) 1pm-5pm.
Tasks: Hosting game booths, video kiosks, stage productions, information booth, etc.
Benefits: Volunteers will be given one lunch coupon to sample the variety of Asian food; Volunteers will be given an event T-shirt to ware. At the end of the Festival, volunteers are welcome to enter drawing for big prizes. (water and drinks are provided)

| Sept. 27th: RESERVE YOUR SEAT TODAY!! 15th Anniversary APEX Awards Gala Extravaganza!! |
 On September 27, the APA community will come together to celebrate the 15th Annual APEX Awards Gala. Presented at the Omni Hotel in downtown Los Angeles, the Awards Gala recognizes and honors prominent APAs who are opening doors for more APAs to rise as leaders in the community. With APEX marquee events such as Youth Olympics and the APEX Mentoring Program, the Awards Gala also allows APEX to celebrate these accomplishments, as well as others, made throughout the course of the year.
It is extremely important as a community to come together and create platform and opportunities to raise more leaders in the private and public sector. Come and find out who's who and who's doing what in the Asian Pacific American community here in Southern California.

Dear APEX members and e-community members,
On behalf of the new Board of Directors for 2008, I want to welcome you to an exciting new year with the Asian Professional Exchange (APEX)!
It is an honor and a privilege for me to serve you as President of the leading professional organization for Asian Americans here in Southern California. Going into our 15th year of existence, APEX continues to cherish its rich history of serving Southern California and embodies the professionalism and generosity that characterizes our magnificent community. We are a dedicated and talented group of individuals committed to promoting volunteerism, developing the potential of others, and improving our community through effective action and leadership.
APEX offers quality programs to help advance your career, opportunities to give back to the community, engaging events to promote networking, and numerous opportunities to develop leadership skills. APEX also has strong relationships to our corporate and community sponsors who generously support the organization. Most importantly, we have our diverse and dynamic membership that is the core of our organization.

APEX Mentoring Program - APPLICATION DEADLINE ON 2/8/08 - The APEX Mentoring Program (AMP) focuses on career guidance, personal development and networking for college/graduate students and young/senior professionals in the Asian Pacific American community. NAAAP 22nd Annual National Convention: "Leadership: Rising and Shining Stars" on August 21st - 24th, 2008 - The NAAAP National Convention fosters leadership and diversity within the community and the workplace. This is a great opportunity for convention attendees to exchange information and business ideas while attending numerous workshops, leadership training, and networking opportunities.
