On Wednesday, April 30th, APEX hosted its first professional development workshop of the year: Effective Communication in Today’s World.

Bryce DeVincenzi, Raajeev Aggarwal, and Pallavi Ridout – three distinguished and award-winning speakers from the public speaking organization Toastmasters International – instructed a group of over 70 people in various public-speaking skills.  Through live demonstrations, public critique, and a question and answer session, attendees gained valuable insight into various topics, including the art of storytelling, how and when to use humor, and PowerPoint presentations.  Feedback from the night revealed that those who attended left the night feeling like they had the tools necessary to take their public speaking skills to the next level.  Visit our Facebook album for a photo recap of the night.

Special thanks to Asian Americans Advancing Justice – Los Angeles for providing the venue, as well as Boo’s Philly Cheesesteaks for catering the event.
