APEX Cares: Kids Reading to Succeed

Join APEX and Kids Reading to Succeed (KRS) to promote literacy and education by reading with children and inspiring them to love books!

When: Saturday April 1 from 8:20-11:15AM. Arrive at 8:20AM, as volunteer orientation begins at 8:45. Remember to wear your APEX Cares t-shirt if you have one!

(NOTE: KRS has two locations. We will go to the Pasadena location, not Altadena)

Parking: Street parking along the side streets (Casitas, Spaulding, or Woodbury)

This is a FREE volunteer event.

*Sign-up deadline will be on March 29th at 11:59 PM to allow for KRS to conduct background checks.

Note that you do not have to complete the volunteer application on the KRS site, since we are gathering the information our own sign-up sheet.

Kids Reading to Succeed is a literacy program whose mission is to empower at-risk youth through reading and education. As volunteers, we will be reading with kids at their Saturday morning program in Pasadena. KRS children are in elementary school, grades 1 - 5. After a morning of reading, we will also help the kids through an interactive learning activity. Limited spots, so sign up early!
