KAY DENG

CHAIR OF MEMBERSHIP

Kay grew up in Upstate New York and graduated from University at Albany SUNY with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Globalization Studies and Business Administrations. She recently moved to Los Angeles and works for a seafood wholesale company in supply chain management. Prior to her current role, she interned for U.S. Committee for Refugees and Immigrants of Albany, and helped refugees and asylum seekers find employment opportunities as they settled in the area. She found that helping refugees go through the process of finding new jobs was very rewarding and accomplishing knowing that she have made an impact on their lives through the organization. Thus inspired her to continue to work with nonprofit organizations.

The APEX philanthropy and mission stood out to Kay because Asian Americans in the US are under-represented, therefore by joining APEX, she’d like to partake in representing the Asian American community in Los Angeles to increase awareness in the Asian population, heritage, and culture. She is passionate about bringing Asian American professionals together through mixers, cultural and networking events and giving back to community. She hopes to increase APEX membership and develop a deeper relationship and be more involved within the API community.
